Terms of Use
The short version: seva helps you save and share wellness and beauty places you love. Be kind — there's zero tolerance for harassment or objectionable content. seva doesn't run, vet or book these businesses, and nothing in the app is medical advice. If something goes wrong with a business, that's between you and them.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Aarushi Parashar, who operates seva ("seva", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the seva app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use seva.
1. Who can use seva
You must be at least 18 years old to use seva. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything that happens under it.
2. Your content
"Your content" means what you add to seva: your name and username, the places you save, ratings, notes, and who you recommend or follow. You keep ownership of your content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display and process it to operate and improve seva — for example, showing your list to people who follow you, or showing that a friend saved a place. Notes stay private to you. You can delete your content or your whole account at any time.
You're responsible for your content and promise you have the right to share it.
3. Community rules — zero tolerance
seva has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You agree not to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, or impersonate anyone.
- Use a name or username that is hateful, sexually explicit, violent, discriminatory or otherwise offensive.
- Post false or misleading information, including fake ratings or recommendations you were paid to make without saying so.
- Spam, scrape, or collect other users' information.
- Interfere with, probe or attempt to break seva's security, or access accounts or data that aren't yours.
- Use seva for anything illegal.
You can report or block any user from their profile. We review reports within 24 hours and may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, with or without notice.
4. Businesses and practitioners
Places in seva come from Apple Maps, OpenStreetMap, users, and public information. seva doesn't own, operate, employ, endorse, license-check or vet any business or practitioner. Information such as addresses, phone numbers, websites, hours and ratings may be incomplete or out of date.
When you tap "Book online", "Call", "Directions" or similar, you leave seva or contact the business directly. Any appointment, payment, service or dispute is solely between you and that business. seva isn't a party to it and isn't responsible for the quality, safety or outcome of any service.
5. Not medical advice
seva is for discovering and organizing places — it does not provide medical, health or professional advice. Some services listed in seva (for example massage therapy, acupuncture, injectables or other cosmetic treatments) can carry health risks. Talk to a qualified professional before starting any treatment, and check that providers are properly licensed.
6. Features that use automation
Some features, such as identifying a business from a post you share, use automated tools (including AI) and Apple Maps search. Results can be wrong. Check a place before you save, visit or book it.
7. Upcoming features
"Book It" is not yet available. Joining the waitlist doesn't create an appointment, reservation or any obligation for you or for us.
8. Third-party services
seva works with services we don't control, including Apple, Google, Instagram, Apple Maps, OpenStreetMap and businesses' own websites. Your use of those services is governed by their terms and policies, and we aren't responsible for them.
9. seva's rights
seva's name, logo, design and software belong to us and are protected by law. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own non-commercial purposes. Don't copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell seva.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using seva and delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we stop offering seva. Sections 2 (license, for content already shared), 4, 5, 11, 12 and 14 survive.
11. Disclaimers
seva is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't guarantee seva will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any information in it is accurate.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, seva and its operator won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, or for anything arising from a business or practitioner you find through seva. Our total liability for any claim related to seva is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
13. Indemnity
If you break these Terms or the law, or your content causes a claim against us, you agree to cover reasonable costs and losses that result, to the extent the law allows.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court.
15. Apple
If you downloaded seva from the Apple App Store, you and we acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for seva or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for seva.
- If seva fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for seva.
- Apple isn't responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to seva, including product liability claims, claims that seva fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If a third party claims seva infringes their intellectual property, we — not Apple — are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You represent that you aren't located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and you aren't on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must also comply with any applicable third-party terms when using seva.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we'll update the effective date and let you know in the app. Continuing to use seva after changes take effect means you accept them.
